Experian bureau, TransUnion bureau, and Equifax bureau allow you to receive a free yearly profile history free of charge. To request the free history, you must contact them by phone of mail. These profile will also contain information regarding legal issues such as: judgments, bankruptcy, foreclosures, liens, child support liens and other possible items that may affect you profile. Additionally Experian, Transunion, and Experian also gather information regarding work history, previous addresses, residences, age, date of birth and social security numbers. The Experian, TransUnion and Equifax bureaus will keep a profile of federal liens such as: foreclosures, chapter 13 bankruptcy, chapter 7 bankruptcy, tax liens, judgments, repossessions, property tax liens for a period of 10 years. All other items such as late payments, consumer consoling service, collections, judgments, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days lates for a period of up to 7 years. This information is used by creditors to insure they are lending to the correct individual and also to protect other creditors and consumers from identity theft.
