Experian, Transunion and Experian are in the business of gathering historically information regarding consumers use and balances of various types of debts such as: home loans, mortgages, equity lines, charge accounts, student loans, liens, auto loans, department store charge accounts and any other types of liabilities. The bureau will recored the history of your repayment of these existing debts as reported by the individual creditors. Experian, Trans Union and Equifax will have the current balances, the high balance and low balance as well as the amount of time the accounts have been opend. The Experian bureau, Trans Union bureau and Equifax bureau will also keep a history of the repayment of these payments. With this information the the timeliness of your repayment of the loans and liens will help determine if you have good fair or bad history. Experian bureau, TransUnion bureau, and Equifax bureau allow you to receive a free yearly profile history free of charge. To request the free history, you must contact them by phone of mail. These profile will also contain information regarding legal issues such as: judgments, bankruptcy, foreclosures, liens, child support liens and other possible items that may affect you profile. Additionally Experian, Transunion, and Experian also gather information regarding work history, previous addresses, residences, age, date of birth and social security numbers. The Experian, TransUnion and Equifax bureaus will keep a profile of federal liens such as: foreclosures, chapter 13 bankruptcy, chapter 7 bankruptcy, tax liens, judgments, repossessions, property tax liens for a period of 10 years. All other items such as late payments, consumer consoling service, collections, judgments, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days lates for a period of up to 7 years. This information is used by creditors to insure they are lending to the correct individual and also to protect other creditors and consumers from identity theft. With this information the clients of the bureau's can manage and maximize their interactions and offers to the customer and allow a mutually beneficial relationship to develop based on the information contained in your history profile. All of the information in your history is compliant with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which protects consumers' rights by limiting the access to their reports. Much of the information contained in the consumer databases from equifax, transunion, experian is now available online so that you may view your personal online profile instantly. Additionally, Experian, Transunion and Equifax all comply with the federal "do not call" list and you may contact each of the bureaus to have your name removed from their databases used for marketing base on your profile history.
